Olly Murray

Olly has just finished filming an immersive style documentary pilot called ‘Oddventures’, which sees her living with weird and wonderful subcultures in America.  She was also performing at Groundlings, the prestigious improvisation theatre company in Hollywood.  She returned to LA after covering the Kids Choice awards as the British correspondent.

Olly presented a young-skewing daily strand called ‘Teennick’ on Nickelodeon for two years before her time in LA.

Teennick was launched solely by Olly, targeted girls aged between 10 and 14 and aired between 5pm and 7pm, five days a week.  It saw her interview the likes of Daniel Redcliff and Emma Watson and current pop acts including JLS and Calvin Harris.

She was nominated for a Nickelodeon Kids Choice Award in 2011 for Rising Star, and covered backstage reports from the main event in LA.

In addition, Olly presented the web show Teennick Extra, a spin-off version of Teennick, where viewers, can ask questions and vote for who they think should win the weekly challenge.  In addition to presenting the show, Olly worked with the Teennick Team writing scripts and researching the show's content.

Olly also has had a column in Sky magazine in which she gave a monthly guide to what’s hot to watch in Children's television.

Olly was spotted in a unique circumstance when one evening whilst she was a student, she was approached in a video shop in the midst of an argument with a friend over which was a better film to rent. She was spotted by a producer and was invited to audition for ‘Whatever’, a controversial Friday night series created by Monkey Productions for Channel 4 in July 2006. ‘Whatever’ was a studio based show comprising of a cutting edge mix of comedy, celebrity quests, studio stunts and live bands. During the show, Olly was shot in a series of brainstorming meetings where she had to come up with ideas that she was passionate about and excited her as a typical 20 year-old.

She studied at City and Guilds London School of Art, working in design, costume and installations.
